How many wins to rank up?
A division is 100 RR. How fast you cover it depends on three numbers: what a win pays, what a loss costs, and how often you win. Multiply them out and you get your RR per game — divide what's left to the next division by it, and that's roughly how many games you need.

The math, with three examples

The second row is the one to notice: five more points of win rate turns 40 games into 24. So does a win that pays more — which happens when the system rates you above your rank (see Am I hardstuck?).
What Vantage shows you
Under your rank: the RR to your next division and roughly how many games that is at your recent pace. If your recent pace is losing RR, it says so instead of inventing a number. Above Immortal, promotion isn't a fixed 100 RR, so it doesn't estimate.
